VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

CARE

HOSPITAL VISITATION – visiting those who are in the hospital for various reasons to encourage them, pray with them, etc.

LIFE CHALLENGES SUPPORT – for those who have experienced challenges in their lives and are willing to walk alongside people with similar struggles.

HANDYMEN – mechanics willing to troubleshoot single parent/elderly car troubles; plumbers, general handymen for basic household maintenance and fixes.

MEALS FOR MOMS – preparation and delivery of meals for new Moms or families in crisis.

RECOVERY/SUPPORT GROUP FACILITATOR – experience required.

PROFESSIONAL CHRISTIAN COUNSELORS FOR REFERRAL – we’d love to be able to refer our church family members and those in our community who are in need of professional counseling.

HEALING PRAYER/DELIVERANCE PRAYER – If you have any experience or interest in this area, please call.

 

METRO PRODUCTIONS

IN PERSON COMMUNICATIONS:
PUBLIC RELATIONS - Need public relations experience, especially contacts with the local media.

IN PRINT COMMUNICATIONS:
GRAPHIC DESIGNERS – Design various pieces of communication within the Metro Graphics Standards, including flyers, newsletters, brochures, as well as other print communications.

COPYWRITERS – Write copy for various communications pieces such as flyers, bulletin, newsletter, etc.

COPY EDITORS

PHOTOGRAPHERS - photography for metro events, Outreach and Group activities

WEB/MOTION GRAPHICS DESIGNER

ONLINE COMMUNICATIONS:
GRAPHIC DESIGNERS -Experience should include Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Fireworks, Illustrator or Freehand.

WEB PROGRAMMERS - Experience must include Macromedia Dreamweaver.

DATA ENTRY - Experience should include Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access.

SOMEONE WITH WEB SITE DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE

SOMEONE WITH FLASH EXPERIENCE

SOUND REINFORCEMENT TEAM:
HELPER – Assists in the set and strike of sound gear.

APPRENTICE – Assists with set and strike and helps with Front of House operations and onstage mix.

OPERATOR – Responsible for all of the previous tasks and operation of house mix and recordings.

TAPE/CD MINISTRY HELPERS – duplicate tapes of sermons and bible studies after Sunday services and, if available, during the week.

VISUAL SUPPORT TEAM:
POWERPOINT OPERATOR – Runs the PowerPoint slide presentation at Sunday worship services.

PRESENTATION BUILDER – Designs “highlighted” slides and assembles slide presentations.

VIDEO TEAM MEMBERS – Acquire, script, write, direct and edit modules and video pieces used for video announcements for Sunday services.

FRONT OFFICE:
RECEPTION AND ADMINISTRATIVE HELPERS

WORSHIP SERVICES:
GREETERS – Extending God’s love to all who attend Metro services by greeting them as they arrive. All that’s required is a heart to serve and a desire to help welcome people to Metro on Sunday mornings.

HOSPITALITY TABLE – Help set up and prepare coffee and refreshments; create a welcoming environment and facilitate fellowship on Sunday mornings.

WELCOME CENTER ASSISTANT– Help collect and organize the information in an attractive fashion on Sunday mornings.

WELCOME CENTER HOST/HOSTESS – Be present at the Information Table before and after Sunday services to provide necessary information and assistance to anyone who needs it. This person might also be a greeter.

SPECIAL EVENTS:
ACTIVITIES PLANNER - Works closely with the head of Activities Planning to plan and sometimes to be the ‘point person’ at Metro events.

OUTREACH
EVANGELISM – JESUS BOOTH (taking it to the streets!) Drama, worship, meeting people right where they are, sharing the gospel, praying for others

WESTSIDE PREGNANCY RESOURCE CENTER – always seeking volunteers to love women in crisis and hopefully preventing abortion.

HOMELESS– homeless outreach and bible study.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
METRO LITTLE KIDS (ages birth to 4)

OPERATIONS
ACCOUNTING:
DATA ENTRY CLERK – enter invoices/purchase orders, vouchers, etc.

FILING CLERK – update and maintain filing system

PROCESS DEFINITION – define, write and implement policies and procedures

FINANCE:
FINANCIAL GRANT CONSULTANT – research donations for equipment, software/computer grants from businesses and financial foundations. Explore government sponsored grants and contributions (i.e. President’s Faith-Based Fund, etc.)

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:
CABLE TECHNICIAN – install/maintain wire systems for PBX, Networks, Audio, Video, Security

TELEPHONE SYSTEMS – design, install and maintain PBX system

APPLICATION/SOFTWARE ENGINEER – design, install and maintain Business Software (MS-Windows, MS-Office, QuickBooks, Bible software, etc.)

LEGAL:
PARALEGAL ASSISTANT – assist with Governmental & legal requirements, 501(C)(3) filings, etc.

PROPERTY MANAGEMENT:
REAL ESTATE – facility search

EXPEDITER – City permits and licenses

HANDYMAN – general maintenance
